VICTORY INAUGURAL BALL SET TO BE THE INAUGURAL EVENT OF 2013

 

Washington, DC: In celebration of the re-election of President Barack Obama, Positive Business Women, Inc (PBW), a Washington, DC area non-profit, is hosting the Victory Inaugural Ball. This ball is expected to draw in excess of 3,000 attendees which will make it one of the nation's largest.

The event will take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in DC's Woodley Park neighborhood and will feature appearances by a cadre of high-profile acts. The evening includes entertainment from Bryan Mills and Secret Society, a fixture on the DC jazz scene, and the momentum continues throughout the night with full performances from GRAMMY-Winning R&B/Soul crooner Maxwell, GRAMMY-Nominated Musiq Soulchild and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.

The mission of PBW is to successfully prepare young girls and women with their self-confidence through mentorship, college & career readiness, leadership development, lifestyle enhancement, and exposure to extraordinary experiences through various events sponsored by PBW geared towards young women between the ages of 7 and 17. Charitable donations from this event will directly benefit PBW's various initiatives and will subsequently enrich the lives of the next generation of young business women.

"We are excited about the opportunity to celebrate the re-election of President Barack Obama and it is our hope that this event will not only be a commemoration of one of the most historic moments in our nation's history but will also benefit the programs that support the many young ladies that we serve" states Mary Bailey, Executive Director of Positive Business Women, Inc.

While there is no official word on the Commander-in-Chief's attendance, President Obama has received an official invitation along with a number of elected officials, celebrities and other dignitaries.

Tickets, ranging from $200 to $1500, are available to the general public and can be purchased at barackyourock.org. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

MICHAEL G. MARSHALL & THE COLLEGE GOSPEL CHOIR ENTER GOSPEL RADIO BILLBOARD CHART TOP 100 WITH "WHEN I SEE JESUS"

Washington, DC: Michael G. Marshall and The College Gospel Choir movement is taking the airwaves by storm with their first single, "When I See Jesus," off their upcoming project One Voice Live. After just two weeks of airplay, the single has entered the Billboard Gospel Radio Top 100 at number 61.

Known for producing an authentic, big sound and possessing a masterful directing ability, Michael G. Marshall leads the movement to preserve the legacy of college gospel choirs with this project. The College Gospel Choir is comprised of diverse singers representing the changing demographic of college gospel choirs, from schools such as Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Benedict College, Berry College, Cedarville University, Jackson State University, Jacksonville State University, University of Alabama, University of Oklahoma, University of Iowa, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

One Voice Live is the first project for ATM Records, with 12 songs that will speak to audiences, transcending generational barriers, with both throwback gospel hits and new music written by the next generation of choir members and leaders. The project is set to be released nationally January 22, 2013, with a CD release concert to be held during the historical 2013 Presidential Inaugural Weekend in Washington, DC.

The One Voice Live project is produced by GRAMMY® and multiple Stellar award winner Cedric Thompson and co-produced by Courtney Franklin.  Also featured on the project are up and coming singers and top names in gospel music such as Kim Burrell, Earnest Pugh, Jonathan Nelson, Jason Nelson, Shae Norman, Nikki Ross, Shea Simpson, LeJuene Thompson, Prince Yelder, and Jamel Strong share on this historic project.
